Felixstowe - Docks North East (16 / D23):

Felixstowe - Docks North East

This is a view showing the position of the port in relation to the rest of Felixstowe. The town is at the top while the North Sea and coastline is on the right leading down to Languard point.

The port facilities cover most of the lower part of the image and careful observation will reveal a container park, oil storage tanks, warehouses and the rail link which runs up the centre of the image. Trinity terminal and Languard terminal lie off the image at the left and bottom.

An extensive area of caravans can be seen in the lower right which reflects Felixstowe's position as a popular holiday resort. To the right of centre it is possible to get the impression of the grid iron road layout which is characteristic of this southern part of the town.
