Ipswich - A14 West (18 / D14):

Ipswich - A14 West

The A14 dual carriageway is clearly seen running to the west of Ipswich with the circular slip roads joining Sproughton Road being particularly visible. This road goes west to Bury St Edmunds and east to Felixstowe.

The central triangular industrial estate is bounded by the A14/railway line and the Sproughton Road which gives it it's name. This location has excellent access as it is within only minutes of the main road.

The large industrial complex in the lower right is the British Sugar factory. The lakes in the lower centre are lagoons to hold waste washing water and have been especially constructed. The yellow crop is oil seed rape which was flowering when the image was taken in late May.

At the top and on the right of the image is the White House estate and the town centre of Ipswich.
