This is the yacht marina to the north east of Woodbridge town centre. The area has been dug out of the flood-plain of the River Deben the boundary line of which is marked by the railway line. The original tidal saltmarsh is seen on the left of the photograph.
This is a popular location. The river is well used by yachtsmen as there are good facilities, a quayside, moorings and boat repairs nearby. The white building in the bottom right is part of the Tide Mill buildings, one of the most popular areas visited by tourists to the town. The railway line continues along the estuary to Melton and Lowestoft. |
