This is part of the Lark Valley near Hengrave Hall (top right) which is to the north of Bury St Edmunds. This area is a mixture of deciduous woodland and arable farming. Notice how the field shapes change. In the far distance the fields are very angular on the flat land above the valley. Within the valley they are less uniform and more space is given over to non-commercial woodland. This makes an interesting comparison with Kings Forest, a plantation of coniferous trees managed by the Forestry Commission. |
