Flempton - Village Church (2 / 16):

Flempton - Village Church

This photograph was taken in May. Note the dark green crop of winter sown wheat on the east of the picture and the tractor tracks which show that the crop has been recently sprayed with fertiliser and herbicide. The village is situated on the A 1101, near Bury St Edmunds. It has good access to road and rail links. It has been developed as a dormitory village for commuters who work in offices in Bury or who travel further to work in London, Norwich or Cambridge.

Older houses have been renovated with new thatched roofs. Horse riding is popular and many people own horses. An equestrian centre can be seen bottom left in the picture. The church is a modest mediaeval building if compared to the more ornate church at Long Melford or Hadleigh.
