Hintlesham - Crop Damage:

Hintlesham - Crop Damage

This field of wheat at Hintlesham to the east of Hadleigh was close to being harvested in the late July but a sudden downpour of rain has partly flattened the crop making harvest very difficult. This is very localised as other nearby fields were not damaged. The lines in the field reflect the wheel marks left by tractors that have sprayed the field previously with herbicide when the crop was still growing. Notice the electricity pylons that pass through the top part of the image. These carry high voltage power lines from Sizewell nuclear power station to other parts of the country.
