This is an area of arable farmland found just to the north of the village of Holbrook. The B1080 cuts through the centre of the image on its route between Ipswich (left) and Holbrook (right). This is an area devoted to cereal crops which when this photograph was taken in early June were just beginning to ripen. Compare these with similar fields at harvest time.
The pattern of fields, possible old field boundaries and even the direction in which the crops were sown can all be clearly seen. Small areas of deciduous woodland along with a scattering of hedgerow trees are visible. The yellow crop in the lower right is oil seed rape which is just beginning to loose its flowers.
