This is the mill building at Icklingham to the north west of Bury St Edmunds. The village can be seen in the top left of the image while the river Lark can be seen flowing diagonally from the top right as it passes towards Lackford and Hengrave. The A 1101 can also be seen.
The mill itself produces animal feed stuffs. Like the mill at Sudbury this mill was probably originally established on the site to make use of the water power to turn the mill wheels. The weir, sluice gates and millpond along with the higher level of water can clearly be seen in front of the mill buildings. |
