This is heathland nature reserve with woodland, river and lakes. A recreated Saxon village is to be found in the top right where six Saxon buildings have been built on an original site. The river Lark flows diagonally north westwards towards the Fenlands of Cambridgeshire. The lakes in the foreground are artificial and have been left after gravel has been extracted from the flat valley floor. Part of the Kings Forest plantation is seen in the background. This is a landscape that has resulted from man's activity rather than being natural. |
