Hadleigh - Bypass:

Hadleigh - Bypass

This is the Castle Road estate to the north west of Hadleigh town centre. It was built in the 1960's on a greenfield site on the outskirts of the town. Notice how all the roads are cul-de-sacs so there is no through traffic and how the environment has been improved by the planting of trees. Compare this with the housing development at Westley and Newmarket.

The access road has been cut off with the building of the A1071 by-pass which has taken traffic out of the congested historical town centre of Hadleigh.
