This is Hadleigh town centre. The historic High Street with it's many old buildings can be clearly seen including the mediaeval St Mary's Church. Modern residential areas can be seen along with the bowls club where there is a match in progress. Notice also the off street car park, the area of parkland at the top and the rather cramped factories at the bottom of the image.

Most development has taken place outside the town centre. Industrial areas are to be found along the by-pass and new housing is being built on the eastern outskirts. The rather embossed appearance is due to the low angle of the late evening sunlight.
