Ipswich - Portman Road (5 / 15):

Ipswich - Portman Road

Portman Road and Ipswich Town football ground are clearly seen. The C.B.D. is towards the top right along with the insurance offices in Franciscan way and Princes Street The now demolished Churchmans cigarette factory is seen in the lower left along with the headquarters of Eastern Electricity.

A large area of car parking can be seen in the centre which is mainly for people working in the town centre.

The rows of old terraced housing are typical of those built in the late Victorian period. When they were built they would have been on the outskirts of the city.

The railway station and River Gipping are found to the south and west of here.
