Ipswich - Cornhill (4 / 12):

Ipswich - Cornhill

The central business district and town centre of Ipswich is seen in this image. To the top right the Cornhill is seen in front of the imposing town hall. People can be seen in the pedestrianised area. Many of the towns large shops selling comparison goods such as Debenhams and Boots are found in this area as it is the main focus for shopping. The characteristic red roof of the Buttermarket development is clearly seen at the bottom of the photograph, the design being an attempt to blend in the modern shopping mall with the older buildings. Princes Street extends out of the image to the left towards the Portman Road and the railway station.
