Ipswich - Town Centre 1 (18 / D2):

Ipswich - Town Centre 1

This is an extensive view of the town centre of Ipswich. The wet dock is seen in the lower left with boats along the quayside. Suffolk College and the red roofed County Council buildings in Rope Walk can clearly be seen in the lower right. The green area at the top is Christchurch Park which is found to the north of the towns C.B.D. The red roof of the Buttermarket development stands out on the left of the image.

Ipswich has changed considerably over the past few decades. The road system, such as at Franciscan way, has been reorganised and this has lead to large areas of terraced housing being demolished.
