Ipswich - White House (18 / D30):

Ipswich - White House

This is the White House area north west of Ipswich town centre. Westbourne High School and playing fields can be clearly seen in the centre of the image even if it is in the shadow left by a passing cloud.

This area is principally a residential one with large numbers of houses seen, especially in the top of the image. The railway line can be seen cutting diagonally across the top right of the image. In the centre right can be seen an extensive area of allotments a reminder that people were encouraged to grow their own food during the second world war.
