Lowestoft is a centre of the North Sea fishing industry and this photograph shows the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries (M.A.F.F.) research building on the cliff tops to the south east of the docks and town centre. Behind this can be seen the Edwardian boarding houses and bed and breakfast lodging houses of the holiday industry of south Lowestoft. The cliff top can be seen at the bottom right hand corner along with the bowling green at Kensington Gardens.
