Lowestoft - South Beach (7 / 31):

Lowestoft - South Beach

This is the south beach area to the south east of Lowestoft town centre.

The very large 19th century buildings in the foreground were once private family homes though they have now been converted to make large hotels and guest houses. There is a considerable area of terraced housing in the top left.

The wide sandy beach is backed by the promenade and is a favourite location for the many tourists who stay in the town. The beach continues southwards towards Pakefield and Kessingland.
