Newmarket - Town Centre NE (6 / B16):

Newmarket - Town Centre NE

The north eastern part of Newmarket is shown on the left while the rest of the image is associated with the Racing industry. Paddocks, stables and exercise yards can all be seen. The Rookery shopping centre is clearly seen on the left of the image. The town now has a by-pass, though the road running from top right to bottom left used to be the main A11/A45. Newmarket is the home to the National Horse Racing Museum and National Racing School and has been famous in the racing industry since the time of Charles II.
