This is the town centre of Stowmarket with the High Street clearly seen on the left side of the image. This area is where most of the towns shops and offices are located. The relief road, like the one at Lowestoft, has been built to take traffic out of the town centre is seen in the middle right with the railway line on the far right. Much of the town centre has now been pedestrianised to improve shopping facilities and safety. This has been rather controversial as many shopkeepers think that it has reduced their trade considerably. |
