In this photograph land on the outskirts of Sudbury has been developed for housing. They usually aim to build a range of house types to appeal to as wide a group of potential buyers as they can. In this case these houses are large with garages and good gardens.
Sometimes planning authorities insist on a particular number of houses per hectare and here this has resulted in wide roads with big grass verges. The development dates from the late 1960's. Today a higher density of houses per acre would be built, like at Newmarket, as the value of the land has increased greatly. |
