This is a detailed photograph showing areas of industry, housing and farmland. The industrial estate, to the north of Bury St Edmunds, is compact and designed around a single access road.
This area is screened from the nearby residential areas by belts of trees. The site is typical of a modern industrial estate as it is built on the edge of an urban area on an area that was once farmland. This is an example of a development on a greenfield site. Like many other industrial estates the buildings are large and of only a single story.
In the lower industrial area large warehouses can be seen. The large area of housing on the left has a variety of styles. The are also new houses being built in the background. |
