Resources for Intermediate learners of English as an additional language are also available. For Key stage 2 to 4 pupils, finding reading material can be a problem. Longman Penguin books are ideal as the carefully controlled syntax and vocabulary make these books accessible for EAL learners.

'Recycle Your English' is a helpful guide to grammar for pupils who have learned English as a modern foreign language before arrival in the U.K. It may also be used to focus on a particular error in a pupil’s writing. It is not a language teaching programme but a useful supplement to language acquisition.
