Spring
Term Bookings For EAL Red Book Courses
Moving Here
A new DVD and set of teachers notes is being produced entitled Moving
Here. It is for Year 5/6 pupils and features positive images of
asylum seekers and refugees. The project was funded by the Home Office
Challenge Fund under the direction of the Refugee Consortium at the East
of England Regional assembly. The DVD has been produced by the Greenwich
Young Peoples Theatre and was filmed in Suffolk, largely at Handford
Hall Primary School and CSV Media in Ipswich. The teachers notes
which accompany the DVD will contain ideas for drama-based classroom activities
that have been used during the project.
The DVD should be available from the autumn term 2005. For further details

Travellers
Homes
The Suffolk Traveller Education Support Service is producing a revised
version of their Travellers Homes photopack. This version
will include a new set of photos featuring Travellers homes, a CD
Rom and background notes and teaching activities.

Black/African History
Month
This is an annual event celebrated in the UK during the month of October.
Schools are encouraged to celebrate in class, and/or assemblies, the achievements
of peoples from the African diaspora. There will be a number of events
throughout East Anglia, including some targeted at schools. For further
