Spring Term Bookings For EAL Red Book Courses

Moving Here
A new DVD and set of teacher’s notes is being produced entitled ‘Moving Here’. It is for Year 5/6 pupils and features positive images of asylum seekers and refugees. The project was funded by the Home Office Challenge Fund under the direction of the Refugee Consortium at the East of England Regional assembly. The DVD has been produced by the Greenwich Young People’s Theatre and was filmed in Suffolk, largely at Handford Hall Primary School and CSV Media in Ipswich. The teacher’s notes which accompany the DVD will contain ideas for drama-based classroom activities that have been used during the project.

Travellers’ Homes
The Suffolk Traveller Education Support Service is producing a revised version of their ‘Travellers’ Homes’ photopack. This version will include a new set of photos featuring Travellers’ homes, a CD Rom and background notes and teaching activities.

Black/African History Month
This is an annual event celebrated in the UK during the month of October. Schools are encouraged to celebrate in class, and/or assemblies, the achievements of peoples from the African diaspora. There will be a number of events throughout East Anglia, including some targeted at schools.
