One of the big challenges facing RE teachers is the widespread confusion about the educational purposes of RE. However, the situation is improving and more and more people are beginning to appreciate the important contribution which RE can make to a child's education. In part this is due to a greater clarity of the subject's aims and approach. Therefore, we would encourage all RE teachers, and new staff in particular, to familiarise themselves with the various elements of the Suffolk RE programme, which are set out below.
