This glossary has been
printed with the kind permission of QCA. It was devised by the
different faith communities to:
-
give guidance to teachers
on key words and their meanings within each religious tradition.
-
try to reach some form of
consensus on spellings. This is almost an impossible task, due
to the problems of transliterating from one script to another, for
example, from Gurmukhi with 35 characters into the Roman script of 26
characters.
Literal translations into
English are printed in italics
Words printed in red are themselves main entries and can be
cross-referenced.
First, please select the
religion containing the word you have identified .
